Week 39 and 40

Yesterday was the big due date and no baby yet...AJ is the size of a pumpkin!

The nursery is ready, the house is spot-less, Matt and I have had lots of rest and nice dinners and AJ is just happy where he is! We are very excited to meet our son, but trying to be patient. God has his Birthday in his calendar and he'll come when he is ready.

On Tuesday evening I was having consistant contractions but they weren't too strong. We got all ready for the hospital but the doctor on call told me to rest for awhile and see if they got worse. I was able to fall asleep and slept through the night. The next morning I was timing the contractions and they were every 5 minutes and painful. My doctor advised me to go to the hospital to get monitored. Matt and I took care of Rudy and we were off! After getting hooked up on the monitors and being examined I was dilated to a 2+ and 70% effaced. My contractions were coming every 4 or 5 minutes and lasting about 30 seconds. They felt like heavy cramps.

We thought they would either send us home or induce labor since I was due the next day. I wasn't making any progress, so after 4 hours they decided to send me home! I started feeling better that evening and went back to work the next day.

On October 22nd, my official due date, we saw Dr. Nilson and still no progress. Still a 2+ and AJ is very high in my pelvis. Dr. Nilson told us if he induces me I have a 70% chance of having a c-section and told Matt and I to decide if we wanted to wait another week for AJ to drop or schedule the c-section. Matt and I looked at each other and we both said, "let's get the c-section scheduled!"

The surgery and AJ's birthday is scheduled for Wednesday, October 28th! I have an appointment on Monday to see if I have made any progress and if something dramatic has changed then we could possibly induce labor. Otherwise, Wednesday is the day!~

We have a very busy weekend planned! Octoberfest is today and it's Matt and I's 10th year in a row to attend. It's a chilly day in Tulsa, but will be so much fun. Tomorrow, Ohio State football is on TV and then that evening we are having a nice dinner and going to a Halloween party.

I plan to pack the hospital bag in the car in case my water breaks this weekend or I go into labor on my own. I'll be working on Monday and that will be my last day.

I will try and update the blog if anything changes. Thank you to everyone for your prayers and I will post pictures of AJ as soon as I can.

God Bless~

Matt and Anne

Week 38

It's the final countdown! 2 more weeks until we meet Austin James....

At our doctor's appt. yesterday I had an internal exam and found out some exciting news! My cervix is 2+ dilated and I'm 70% effaced. I haven't had any strong contractions, just mild cramps so I wasn't sure if I had made any progress. AJ is head down and in my pelvis.

I've been feeling so good, that I have been in denial that this whole thing is happening. It's been very surreal to me. I'm excited, nervous, scared and overcome with joy that my emotions are all over the place. I keep thinking that I'm dreaming, but I know God has blessed us in so many ways! 4 years ago at this time we had our first positive pregnancy test and now God is delivering us this perfect baby boy! He is already so loved by his mom and dad, grandparents, family and friends! I can't wait to hold him and to look into his eyes and know that I am his mom and that will never change.

Matt and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Mahogany last Friday night and have spent some good quality time today. It has been so nice. He has been by my side this entire 10 months and loves on my belly and AJ all the time!

We decided to go ahead and purchase a new car this week before AJ comes. The convertible is up for sale and we will miss it! We got a 2006 Acura RL and it is so nice!

This weekend I just plan on getting pampered at the nail salon and resting.

Our next doctor's appt. is on Thursday, so I'll post more next week.

Thank you for all of the prayers and please continue to pray that everything goes smooth and AJ is healthy!

Week 37

3 more weeks to go….

Our 37 week appt. was today and everything is going well. AJ is not in the pelvis, so I don’t have a lot of information to share-no internal exam yet. Our due date is still Oct. 22nd and I’m feeling good. I think I can make it 3 more weeks! The longer AJ stays put, the longer I’ll have off for the holidays.

I’ll try and keep everyone updated as the weeks progress. No news is good news!

Love,

Anne

Week 36

We only have 4 more weeks until our due date! AJ is doing really good. He is hiccuping at night and it is so cute.
Our doctor's visit today went really good and uneventful. AJ's heart rate was good and we saw his diaphragm moving. He is head down and moving really good.
Matt and I went to the Tulsa Scottish Games last weekend and had a great time. I'll be going to OKC this weekend for Missy's wedding reception. This will be my last visit to OKC before Austin is born.

I'm still swelling, but I've made it to the gym twice this week and that has helped. We met with our pediatrician and really like her.

I'll be back for more updates next Thursday!

Week 35

35 days until my due date! Holy cow time is flying by!!!

We just had a doctor's appt. today and AJ weighs 6.5 lbs.. His heart and breathing sound really good. AJ is fully developed and will just gain weight over the next 5 weeks. His weight is a rough estimate and my doctor thinks he'll be around 8 lbs!

Mama is doing well! My blood pressure is really good. Weight is right in range and I'm feeling good. My energy level is slowing down and my feet are so swollen. I just got approval to wear tennis shoes to work and I'll see if that helps with the swelling.

The nursery is all done! Matt and I worked so hard on everything and we love it! I'm so glad the room is complete and we can just enjoy the next month without stressing. Matt plans on installing the car seat very soon and I'll pack our bags in the next 2 weeks.

Next week Dr. Nilson will start his internal exams and this will let us know if I'm starting to dilate and progress. I haven't had any braxton hicks and no more cramps since my bladder infection, so I have no idea how things are going down there!

We have weekly check-ups now, so I'll post more next Thursday!

Week 33 and 34

The past 2 weeks have been great! I had my OKC baby shower and it was awesome. All of my close friends and lots of family were there. It was so nice to celebrate with everyone and to spend time with my Mom and Dad.
We had a doctor's appointment today and everything is progressing nicely. AJ is head down and most likely will not move positions. My blood pressure was really good and my weight gain is right where it should be. I'm having a lot of swelling in my feet and hands, so Dr. Nilson wants to start seeing me weekly.
I can't believe we have 6 weeks to go and I know it's going to fly by. AJ's nursery is coming together. I washed all of his clothes and bedding this past weekend. His crib is all ready! Matt moved our nice chair in the office to the nursery and it really completes the look of the nursery. I'll post pictures as soon as we're completely done.

My work friends are hosting me a shower this weekend. I'll post next week as soon as my doctor's appointment is over.

Week 32

We had a great week! AJ is moving and growing every day. He has lazy days and very active days- kinda like most of us!
Our first baby shower was on Sunday. We had a couple's baby shower and it was awesome! Several of Matt's police buddies were there and everyone was so generous. Matt's parents drove up from Plano, TX to be there. This is their first grand baby and very special for them. Matt's mom made a beautiful quilt with little monkey's and it's beautiful!

Our final child birthing class was on Tuesday night. We had a really good instructor and learned a lot about breathing techniques and getting through labor-something I fully appreciate! :)

So, this weekend is the big OKC shower with my family and all my close girlfriends. I'm so excited about seeing everyone. I haven't been to OKC in over 2 mos. and can't wait to have the shower. My mom and I are going to spend some quality time together on Saturday and then Sunday is the shower.

The reality that this pregnancy is coming to an end and I'll be meeting my son in less than two months is very overwhelming to me. I'm tearing up just thinking about seeing him and holding him! I can't wait to see Matt's face when AJ is born and all the pride and love that he already has for him. I feel AJ move around inside me and I wonder what his eyes will look like and I imagine his cute little fingers and toes. I can't wait to share this moment with my Mom and Dad. They have seen Matt and I hurt so much for a baby and have longed for their baby girl to have her own baby! It's very special! Jim and Susan are excited to have their first grandson and have been praying for Matt and I for several years to become parents.
Our prayers have been answered and we pray for a healthy labor and delivery!

Week 31

This week has been a good week. I'm feeling better after the UTI and have been taking things really easy. I'm going back to the gym today and looking forward to having a good work-out. I'm starting to get tired again and getting as much sleep as possible.

Our first baby shower is on Sunday and we are very excited! At our doctor's appointment last week, Austin weighed 4lbs. He is in the 75% percentile and a big boy. Dr. Nilson was happy with everything and we have another appointment on August 31st.

Our last birthing class is on Tuesday and it has gone by so fast. I have a feeling that the next 9 weeks are going to fly by. Matt and I are going to make an effort to have specials dinners and movie date nights before AJ is born.

AJ's room is coming together and I'll post some pictures when it's all done. Matt shampooed our carpets this week and did some landscaping. I think our house is in the best shape it's ever been in and we love having so many projects complete.

Week 30

Wow, we have made it to the thirties! Week 30 is here and it's getting close to the final day.

We have an ultrasound today and AJ should be weighing around 3lbs.

We had some excitement this week. We made a trip to L and D on Monday night. We were not expecting this at all. I had a doctor’s appt. at 1:30pm on Monday and my doctor had 6 deliveries going on so we rescheduled the appointment.

I had some pretty bad cramping Sunday night, but I thought it was just dehydration. Well, I got back to work and the cramping isn’t stopping. It was like I had menstrual cramps in my upper/middle belly. AJ was moving great, so I wasn’t that worried. My girlfriends at work kept telling me to call the doctor. I felt silly calling b/c I was just in there and told the nurse I was doing great. Well, I called around 3:30pm and the nurse called me back and said go to the hospital to L and D and let’s get you on some monitors. I started crying and getting worried, but collected myself and met Matt there.

I thought I would be put in a little room and hooked up to watch the baby and be on our little way. Nope, they had me in a real L and D room- gown and all! Hooked AJ’s heart rate up and my uterus up to a machine. I was having real contractions every 3 to 4 minutes. I was so glad I called the doctor. He happened to be at the hospital delivering, so I had a chance to see him too. They gave me a shot to stop the contractions and then did a swap test to see if the contractions were real labor or Braxton hicks. They also tested my urine for a bladder infections. Well, after about 2 hours of waiting, the test for real contractions came back negative. Which, was awesome news! I ended up having a bladder infection and was given antibiotics and sent home! I’m feeling better much better and looking forward to the ultrasound today. I told Matt while we were in the hospital that I would have a great posting this week on the blog!

I think the main thing that we learned from this experience is #1 Drink lots of water and #2 We could have this baby at any time in the third trimester!

Week 29

We started our child birthing classes and breast feeding classes this week. The breast feeding class was on Monday evening and had a lot of really good information. We have one more class and then we'll be done. The child birthing classes are every Tuesday evening in August. We have a big class and some interesting characters in the class.

We watched a video on a vaginal delivery and all I can say is it's really intense! The instructor is amazing and I'm mentally preparing myself for labor and delivery. AJ is still in breech position but we have a 50% chance that he will flip and no c-section will be necessary.

AJ is moving around like crazy and I love it! Matt talks to him often and AJ loves to hear daddy's voice. Matt's parents were here this weekend and helped us install ceiling fans. Our blinds were installed on Tuesday and AJ's room is coming together.

I'm feeling good, but have scaled back my work-outs to 3 or 4 days a week. We have another doctor's appointment on Monday!

Thursday, July 30, 2009

Week 28

Week 28 has been low-key. I'm feeling really good on most days and still have the energy to work-out 4 or 5 times a week. I'm starting to get really tired in the evenings again, so I'm not sure how much longer I can keep up this pace. I passed my gestational diabetes test and I'm so relieved and happy! The back aches and body pains are starting and I'm learning to pay attention to my body and take it easy when I need to. Overall, I really love being pregnant! I know the end will be harder, but we've waited for this for almost 4 years and I just feel so blessed to even be pregnant!

Now, on to the star of the show- Mr. AJ McCord! Matt and I moved his crib and dresser into the nursery and hung some shelves. We also added his name above the crib and it's starting to really look like a nursery! Matt and I are spending more time in the nursery, especially if we are having a bad day and just need some cheering up!

We have so much going on in August. Our breast-feeding and child-bearing classes start next week and we have a few baby showers planned in August. I'm looking forward to learning how to care for a newborn and it will be great to spend the time with Matt.

Week 27

WOW~I start my third trimester today and I can hardly believe it!!!

We just had our doctor’s appt. and everything is going great. AJ weighs 2lbs. 4ozs and is right on track. As for my health, I had great blood pressure and my weight is doing good so far. I took the gestational diabetes test and should have the results this week.

Austin is in breech position, so we may be having a cesarean on Oct. 12th. Nothing is scheduled yet, but Dr. Nilson said his little butt is wedged in my pelvic bone pretty good. His head and feet are right at my belly button- like a cute little taco~!

The third trimester brings on new aches and pains. I'm curious how the next three months will go, but confident in Matt taking care of me and treating me like a princess. He is so good to me!

Thank you for all of your prayers! God is blessing us every day!

Week 26

Little AJ is rockin' and rollin' and having a good time in mommy's belly. He should be about 10 inches and weigh around 2lbs according to my books. We have a doctor's appt. on Monday and we're excited to see the little man. AJ is sensitive to light, sounds and touches. His eyes are beginning to open and his lungs are developing every day.

Our home improvement projects are all done and we should have the nursery complete in August. It has been so nice to enjoy our home and each other after being busy in June.

I'll have more to report next week after our doctor's appt.

Love to all~ Matt and Anne

Weeks 24 and 25

Matt and I have been very busy since my last posting....

Our crib and dresser/changing table are put together and ready to go in the nursery. We registered at Babies R Us and it was a great experience. I had been doing a lot of research on car seats, cribs, strollers, etc. and was very prepared when we went to register and buy the crib. Well, 4 hours later we were done and exhausted!!! Matt was amazed by my energy to shop and we were both surprised by how long it took. I can't tell you how surreal the experience was for me. I have bought so many baby gifts in the past and it was finally my time to experience registering and getting prepared.

Our next big project was painting the nursery! After many months of color discussions, Matt and I finally agreed upon a color scheme that we both loved. Matt spent about 13 hours taping, measuring and painting two coats and the nursery looks amazing....!!! We wanted to match our bedding to the wall colors, so the top half of the room is a really light green and bottom half is a rich chocolate brown color. In between the two colors is about a 2 inch strip of a really light khaki brown. I am so excited to get the furniture in place and all the accent pieces. We are having blinds installed in a few weeks. Matt and his Dad will be installing a ceiling fan when his parents visit. Then, we should be pretty much done with the nursery and will just wait for our little baby boy to arrive.

So, now on to the little man. I won't have another doctor's appt. for 2 more weeks, but I can tell that AJ is growing and getting stronger. His kicks are becoming stronger and I can now feel him rolling and turning. Some days he is really active and other days he is just chilling! My body is all baby! I'm growing outwards and my legs and arms and face are all the same size.

Overall, I'm still feeling good. I have been working out more and it is really helping with my swelling and ability to sleep good at night. Being pregnant has been an amazing experience. I think God everyday that he has blessed our desire to have a baby. Looking back, I know now that God had a plan for the right timing for Matt and I to have a baby. Austin is loved so much and Matt and I already have this overwhelming love and connection to him. I feel like I'm waiting for Christmas; to hold him in my arms and to smell him and kiss him!

Thursday, June 25, 2009

Week 23

We had an appointment on Monday with Dr. Nilson and AJ is looking really good. His heart beat was 150bpm. He was in breech position, so we didn't get very good pictures of his face. He is growing every day and should be around 1lb by now!

I'm feeling him kick more and more every day and the kicks are getting stronger. He likes to kick after I have eaten and especially at night. AJ knows Daddy's voice too!

Our major home projects are officially over and we are so excited! Grandpa Ron was in Tulsa this week helping Matt and I finish our last projects- thank you Dad!

Now is the time to get started on the baby's room and really enjoy the pregnancy. We are ordering our crib and registering on Sunday. Matt and I are really looking forward to this and can't wait to start painting his room. Our theme is monkey's!

Matt's parents are coming in early August to help us do some last minute details. We haven't seen them since Matt's B-Day in April and boy have I grown since the last time we saw each other! LOL! This is their first little grand baby and it's so exciting!

Wednesday, June 17, 2009

Week 22

Week 22 and AJ is the size of a spaghetti squash according to babycenter.com!!!

Exciting news to share- I felt AJ kicking and moving on June12th and it was amazing! I was lying down reading in bed and all of a sudden I could feel this weird kicking sensation in my uterus! I starting talking to him and he responded to my voice. I called Matt immediately and for the last few nights, Matt has been talking to AJ and feeling his kicks too.

We have our next ultrasound on Monday and I can hardly wait to go! My doctor takes 3D pictures at no extra charge, so I'm going to ask for some and hopefully we'll get some good pictures.

The summer heat is exhausting to me. I'm not sure how I will make it in July and August, but I'm sure I'll survive.

I'll send some updates of our ultrasound next week!

Thursday, June 11, 2009

Week 21

We survived our weekend wedding extravaganza!!! It was so nice to spend time together in Eureka Springs and see our good friends tie the knot!

Matt and our neighbor finished tiling our master shower and it looks really good. Matt will paint the ceiling and that project will be complete. Next on the list is getting our entry way prepared for my Dad to lay new tile! I'm really excited about this, I've been wanting to re-tile the entry for several years.

As for the pregnancy, I'm feeling really good! My exercising has suffered this last week because I have been so busy with the weddings and home projects. Last night I was feeling really bad and had a hormonal break-down. Matt was so sweet and let me cry and snot all over his shirt. Their wasn't really any reason to cry, I just didn't feel good! Oh, hormones are great! My feet are at a constant state of swollen. No matter how much water and low sodium food I eat, my feet swell. My doctor said it's very normal, so I'm just rolling with it!

This weekend is my birthday and we're celebrating with some friends at Cheesecake Factory!

This pictures above are of Matt painting the trim to our new windows. One room is AJ's nursery and the other is our office! The finished windows look great and really improve the curb-side appeal of our home.

I hope the pregnancy continues to go this well and I'll add more belly photos soon!

Thursday, June 4, 2009

Week 20

This pregnancy is flying by! We are half way there and things are going well.

We had an ultrasound on Monday and AJ looks great! He weighs 12 oz's. and his heart, stomach and brain are healthy. I went home after work and Matt and I started to look in our cabinets for 12oz. cans to see how much that weight feels like! It was so fun! Austin is about the weight of a tomato soup can! LOL!

I started having back pain again this week and I'm hoping that is goes away. There isn't very much that I can do to help, but try and walk around once an hour. My belly is growing every week and I can only imagine how big it will be at 9mos.

We have weddings all weekend! We're going to Eureka Springs on Friday for a wedding. Some great friends of ours in Tulsa are getting married at the Crescent Hotel and I've always wanted to stay the night there. Then on Saturday we are driving home and going to another wedding that evening for a girlfriend of mine from work. Sunday night is the big reception for our friends who are getting married in Eureka Springs! I'm really looking forward to getting away and spending all weekend with Matt, but I'm already tired thinking about all these weddings!

God is blessing us everyday with a healthy baby!

Week 17 and 18

Hi there~

I decided to combine week 17 and 18 because I'll be 18 weeks tomorrow and I've gotten behind.

:) Everything is going really good! I've started to get a nice, round belly about a week or two ago. I woke up one morning and wow there it was! I'm in some maternity clothes and it's really nice to actually look and feel pregnant! I'm not feeling Austin yet, but I think it might be a little too soon to feel anything. He is about the size of my hand or about 5 to 6 inches. My uterus is the size of a cantaloupe! It's so amazing to me!

Matt is busy working on the house and will be installing new windows in the nursery and office with our good friend Kurt Dodd. After that we will have blinds installed and begin picking out wall colors.

We have enrolled in child birthing classes and breast feeding classes at St. Francis in August. Our goal is to have the baby's room mostly complete before the baby showers and before I just get too exhausted to do anything.

I'm still exercising and taking walks in the neighborhood with Rudy. I've been going to spin classes about once a week or so. It's still one of my favorite exercises!

Work has been going really good for both Matt and me. My girls at work have been a great support system and are putting up with all my crazy hormones! Thank you! Matt's buddies are offering all there fatherly advice, especially for a boy.

Well, I'll keep you all posted as things progress. As Suzanne told me, this is the "Golden Trimester" and she is so right! I'm sure there will be much more to report as the weeks go by.

Love to all~ Matt, Anne and little AJ

Week 16

Hi Everyone!

Well, most of you know by now that we are having a little BOY! We surprised my parents and Matt's parents with the news until this weekend. Thank you for being good sports!

We had a great weekend! I went to OKC to visit my family and friends. Everyone is being so supportive! My mom and I did some shopping and I went to Missy's graduation and Kelsey's birthday party.

Matt surprised me with a beautiful bracelet for Mother's Day! I was so surprised!!! I cried like a baby! It was a very nice Mother's Day!

We are visiting St. Francis hospital tonight to take a tour and for orientation.

Hope you all have a great week!

Anne

Week 15

Hi Everyone~

Week 15 has been really good! Not much activity to report. We had a doctor's appointment on Monday and our baby is looking great. I drank some apple juice before the appointment and the baby was moving around like crazy! Dr. Nilson checked the heart and some other vital organs and everything looks great.

I am very happy to report that I only gained 1lb. I cannot promise that I will be revealing my weight gain through out the entire pregnancy, but because it's positive today, I'm willing to share this vital information! I think I've gained around 5lbs. so far!

I'm going to OKC this weekend for some girl time with my Mom and some friends.

We have another appointment on June 1st!

Tuesday, April 28, 2009

Week 14

We went to Dallas this weekend for Matt's Birthday! Had a great time- it was nice to see Matt's family.

We are officially in the "nesting" mode of the pregnancy! Matt is working on getting new windows for the nursery and office. I'm cleaning out closets, bathrooms and getting organized. This is the part that I really enjoy!

We are on a waiting list for John Knox Presbyterian daycare. I have a few friends who have their babies in this daycare and they are very pleased. I'm still looking for some others to compare, but feel good about John Knox.

I'm feeling really good overall, besides the usual aches and pains. I'm not feeling the baby yet, but I hope to soon. I really want to get as much done as I can before 30 weeks, as I have heard I will get very tired towards the end of the pregnancy. My goal is to have the nursery done in September, but we'll see how it all goes!

Matt and I feel so blessed and I still pinch myself sometimes that this is really happening. God is good!

Tuesday, April 21, 2009

Week 13

Week 13 has been great!

We saw the doctor yesterday and everything is going good! Our baby had a 157 bpm heart beat and has really grown. Dr. Nilson saw a little "something" between the legs, so we still don't know the sex for sure!

My friends and I at work have been having some fun guessing the baby's sex. We did the old wives tale of taking a nail and seeing which direction it went to find out the sex- it said boy and then girl. The lunar calendar says a boy, so who knows for sure!

We are going to Dallas this weekend to celebrate Matt's Birthday!

I'm still feeling good-more energy and I'm ready to start organizing and getting things around the house done.

We have a busy summer planned and it's going to be hot! I already told Matt to be prepared for a high electric bill this year! LOL!

Monday, April 13, 2009

Week 12

Awww, Week 12 is here!

We enjoyed a great Easter weekend! I'm feeling much better and have a lot more energy. I've been working out again and I'm not as sick.

We feel so relieved that week 12 is here and will see Dr. Nilson next Monday.

Thank you for your continued prayers!

Week 11

Hi all~

Today was another doctor's appt. with Dr. Nilson. We normally would not be seeing the doctor this often, but Dr. Nilson is watching us very closely.

The baby's heartbeat was 171 bpm and he is predicting a girl, but told me not to buy any paint yet! I think she was asleep today because we had to push on her to get her to switch sides. Dr. Nilson wanted to look at the spine and she was just not cooperating! Finally she moved over and everything looks great!

We'll be going back in 2 weeks! I've starting to spread the word at work and I'm just so excited. Matt is wonderful! He has been my rock during the last 3 months and I'm so thankful that God has giving me a wonderful husband and friend! Our journey has been long, but together we can get through anything.

Fear Not! This is my newest saying! Praise God and Happy Easter!

Week 10

Week 10 was a good week!

We met with our ob/gyn on Monday and he is so funny! Dr. Nilson is one of the top doctor's in Tulsa. Several of my friends see him and he has delivered all there babies. We saw our baby moving around and I could see the hands/feet/head/belly! It was just amazing. The heartbeat was 167 bpm and the baby is about 2 or 2.5 inches long!

I'm having some back pain and heart burn started this week, but it's nothing tums can't handle!

We are going to OKC this weekend for our niece, Baylee's Birthday! We are going to share the news with the rest of the family and I'm excited to tell everyone. My mom is taking me shopping for some pregnancy essentials too. I love shopping with my Mom!

We have another ultrasound on Monday morning so Dr. Nilson can check the baby for any abnormalities. Thank you for all your prayers! We are so close to being in the second trimester and I just read yesterday that at week 13 your chances for a miscarriage goes down by 65% at that point!

God is with us everyday and watching over us!

Tuesday, March 24, 2009

Week 9

This is our 9th week! We had a doctor's appointment on Monday and our baby is looking great!

The baby's heart rate was 178 bpm again and that is really good. The baby has doubled in size and right on track. Our specialist has been fantastic! God sent us to him for a reason and I would recommend anyone to this doctor. I wish I could have him delivery our baby, but his work is done and it's time to move on to Dr. Nilson-who is fantastic as well!

Matt and I are completely at peace and know that the baby will be fine! We have started making plans for the baby's room. We are going to install blinds and will start cleaning things out in May/June! This is the best part!

Thank you for all your prayers!

Tuesday, March 17, 2009

Week 8

Howdy folks~

Our last doctor's appointment was on Friday the 13th! I went into this appointment feeling very at peace and knowing that God was in control and our baby was going to be doing great!

Well, the baby is looking great! The heartbeat was 178, which is a very strong heart beat and Dr. Prough said the baby was developing really good. We could see an arm, leg and head in the ultrasound pictures! Amazing! I still have a bladder infection, so more antibiotics and I'll be fine. The stomach cramping has calmed down and I'm very happy about that!

I also went to a baby shower on Saturday and had a wonderful time! I have only been to one other baby shower in 3 years and it was so wonderful to be there and support my friend. I can't wait to experience more!

I've been having some more nausea at random times. I got very nauseated at church on Sunday and had to skip the gym!

Our next appointment is on March 23rd! Love to all!

Week 7

Week 7 began with a bang!!! The night after our first ultrasound I started having mild cramping in my upper/middle stomach. I wasn't too worried about it and was able to sleep just fine. On Wednesday I was cramping all day. After talking to Matt, I decided to call the doctor. The nurse said it was probably heart burn and to call on Thursday if it doesn't go away.

Well, Thursday morning came and I was still hurting. I called the doctor and they scheduled me to come in that morning. Matt and I went together. I wasn't too worried until we got to the doctor's office and I started to get scared-why is this happening, is the baby okay? Dr. Prough did an exam and after touching my bladder and it hurting, he said I had a bladder infection. I did a pee test to confirm the problem and was prescribed an antibiotic and told to drink lots of water/cranberry juice. Bladder infections are very common in pregnant woman.
Problem solved!

He checked out the baby and wow he/she has grown so much in just 3 days! From a grain of rice to a kidney bean! The heart rate went up to 119, which is very good news. The baby was measuring right on track and I was 7 weeks on March 5th.

Our next visit is Friday, March 13th. I believe Friday the 13th's are lucky days, as I'm a June 13th baby! Well, until next time, please keep praying for us! Thank you for everything!

Week 6

Today was our first ultrasound! The experience began with our appointment not being scheduled and the office having to squeeze us in. Thank goodness!

We waited about 45 minutes and finally got to see Dr. Prough. During the ultrasound, Matt and the doctor were talking about horses and the weather. The entire time I was anxiously awaiting to hear the heartbeat. We saw the baby immediately! A little grain of rice! As soon as the doctor was done, I sat up and asked if everything was okay? Dr. Prough was like, "yes, didn't you see the heart beat?" Oh, finally relief! Thank you Jesus!

The heart beat was 115 and we're 6w4d. We'll see Dr. Prough again next Thursday!

Week 5

Nothing new to really report! I'm getting very excited about seeing Dr. Prough. Things seem to be going very well. We are going to OKC this weekend to visit friends and family. I am officially the DD!

I haven't had any morning sickness, but get nausea about certain foods. I have been walking and taking yoga class. I'm ready to get back to my spinning classes, but want to get past the first trimester. I just really want to be safe! My spinning instructor gave me some information on spinning and pregnancy and it's safe to do, but you have to watch your heart rate.

That's all for this week! As the weeks progress, I promise more exciting postings!

Week 4

The prenancy symptoms have officially arrived! Aside from having morning sickness, I am having every symptom known to man! Breast soreness, frequent trips to the bathroom and very tired.

I went in for my 2nd HCG blood test and my numbers had increased significantly. That is awesome news! I bought several books from amazon.com and love reading them. I was able to find a book for expecting fathers, which is great.

Week 3

Our journey has been a 3 year adventure! After two losses and going through infertilty we found out that we are pregnant! This is our third pregnancy and such a wonderful blessing! Matt has been fantastic! He has been calming my fears and praying with me daily to protect our baby. We've started sharing the news and can't wait to tell the world. We wanted to tell our family and friends because we feel that we need the prayers and support!

"For God has not given me the spirt of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind."
